After spending quite a bit of time trying to understand what could cause the difference between the WRF-Chem emissions files and the emission files of other participants in the project, I am pretty sure that the error is linked to the conservative remapping that seems to be not so conservative as I expected. It seems that both Hermes and old WRF-Chem pre-processor (anthro_emiss https://www2.acom.ucar.edu/wrf-chem/wrf-chem-tools-community) have issues when the input emission inventory has a finer resolution than the output WRF-Chem files. In the case of NO, the total from the emission inventory is 1156 Mt year, while the NO from the WRF-Chem ready emission files is 1088 Mt year.

My question will be: 1) have you encountered a similar behaviour? 2) If so, could you suggest how to overpass this?
