HERMES_GR for Kuwait

@ocollado , this issue is to track the progress of preparing the necessary input and configuration files to produce emissions for the region of Kuwait using HERMES_GR.

The initial steps we should perform are as follows:

  • Download CAMS-GLOB-ANTv6.2 emission data for year 2025 and store it in esarchive
  • Pre-process CAMS-GLOB-ANTv6.2 emission data to HERMES_GR input format (using Nord3)
  • Copy pre-processed CAMS-GLOB-ANTv6.2 emission data to MN5 HERMES data folder
  • Prepare RACM2 speciation profile file (MeteoSIM input is required to know which species to consider)
  • Prepare EI_configuration file
  • Prepare HERMES_GR general configuration file for each working domain (MeteoSIM inputs required for domain and vertical descriptions)
  • Prepare CAMS-TEMPO gridded files for each working domain
  • Run 1 day test for each working domain (using MN5)
  • Share testing data with MeteoSIM

Future steps will include refining the emissions we consider for the ene and ref sectors in CAMS-GLOB-ANTv6.2 (replacing them with CORSO and CLimateTrace information).

@ocollado , we will discuss in detail next week. Meanwhile, read in detail all the documentation related to HERMES_GR (paper + wiki)

@ctena , can you provide instructions on how to load and run HERMES_GR in MN5?

@ctena , not urgent, but when possible check and update, if needed, the current how to install wiki of the new HERMES_GR v3.0.0. Once it is ready, we will share the info with MeteoSIM so that they can start the installation in their cluster (and later on in Kuwait's cluster, when ready).
